  • Sensitive Personal Data: Certain identifiers (e.g., login credentials) and, in the context of recorded assessments, your image, voice, and on-screen activity are treated as sensitive under applicable laws.
  • Usage Data: Automatically collected information about how you interact with the Platform (pages visited, clicks, time spent, etc.). When linked to you, we treat it as Personal Data.
How We Collect Information
  • Directly From You: When you register, apply for a job, attempt an assessment, or contact support.
  • From third parties: Partners such as employers or institutions that invite you to assessments.
  • Through cookies & analytics tools: To improve functionality and security (you may disable cookies in browser settings).
  • Through consented recording: When you join a proctored stage, you are prompted to allow webcam, microphone, and screen sharing; recordings occur only after consent.

How We Use Your Data

We never sell or rent your Personal Data.

Use and Retention of Recordings
  • Recordings (video, audio, screen) are kept for up to 60 days after an assessment stage ends, then automatically deleted from CoderScout systems.
  • Employers may download evaluation data before deletion; such copies fall under their own privacy policies.
  • You may request early deletion by emailing support@coderscout.io or privacy@coderscout.io.
Data Sharing
  • Service Partners: We share limited data with vendors who provide:
    • Cloud hosting and storage
    • Video processing and proctoring infrastructure
    • Payment and analytics services
    • Legal, audit, and security support

All partners are bound by contracts requiring confidentiality and equivalent protection standards (GDPR Art. 28 / DPDP Rules / CCPA Service Provider clauses).

  • Employers / Institutions: When you participate in an assessment, the employer or organization that invited you receives access to your recordings, results, and relevant metadata for hiring evaluation.
    CoderScout does not control how those organizations use that information; please review their respective privacy notices.
  • Legal Disclosures: We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries outside your own (e.g., servers in India, the EU, or US).
We use approved transfer mechanisms such as Standard Contractual Clauses or other adequacy safeguards to ensure equivalent protection.

Data Security

We employ strong safeguards including:

  • AES-256 encryption at rest and TLS 1.2+ in transit
  • Role-based access control
  • Time-bound secure URLs for playback

This may include your web browser type, device, device ID, operating system details, IP address, service provider, pages viewed, clicks, and time spent on the Platform. If this data can be linked to you, we treat it as Personal Data. Otherwise, it’s classified as Usage Data.
  • Communication Recordings: We may record calls and store content from chats, text messages, or other communications between you and CoderScout.io. By communicating with us, you consent to this recording and storage.
